Her work is known for her equine subject matter and especially for her creations made of horse show ribbons which are in private collections in the United States, Canada, and Great Britain.
“WHERE ARE YOUR HORSE SHOW RIBBONS?” was created when Diana was convinced by Terrie Bauer, who wanted her daughter’s ribbons and memories of horse shows to be treasured in a quilt rather than be forgotten in a box somewhere when she went off to college. She looked everywhere for someone to make a quilt using her daughter’s ribbons and even resorted to advertising in THE CHRONICLE OF THE HORSE in her search. Terrie saw Diana’s high caliber work earned awards at a quilt show her and decided to commission her for the project. There were no quilts or instructions to be found on how to create such a thing, and Diana put her talent and experience to work to create the beautiful and high quality heirloom and has continued to do so with offerings of ribbon and photo pillows, ribbon tote bags, and rosette wreaths. Ribbons and inquiries come from just about everywhere and Diana keeps a close communication with her clients so that she can fulfill their needs and desires regarding size, budget, custom embroideries, photos, and to keep them involved in the process. Professionally transferred photos, custom embroideries, and decorative stitches not only bring out the richness of the ribbons, but gives the quilt/pillow/tote bag extra stability, but makes it exclusively yours. She encourages prospective clients to make an appointment and visit her state of the art studio where one can see the quality of Diana’s work. Each piece is created exclusively by Diana who creates a full color sketch with all the necessary information including the cost which is provided for your approval which is required along with a 50% deposit in order to begin or to reserve a place to begin work. Quilt tops are created with your ribbons in a foundation method, embellished with golden decorative stitches, embroideries, and photos with a quality cotton batting sandwiched in between the backing which is made of navy bridal satin as well the binding and back pocket to hang and display. All these are included in the price without any hidden additional charges. It is no wonder that such high quality work, and a long list of testimonials from very satisfied clients, that it is important to plan ahead if yours is to be given as a special gift at a special time as Christmas or graduation. These make great gifts for young junior riders, those going off to college, students, trainers, owners, farms, and lifetime achievements. It is always interesting to see how different and absolutely beautiful the awards are from different regions of the country. These stunning quilts are as diverse as their recipients and no two are ever the same. They just get better.
